The work syncs and overlaps two phase-transitions. One sequence displays the freezing and crystallization process of water in a plastic bottle made by company Nirvana; the other shows the dissolving of a pink candy cast of the same bottle in water. The work explores the appropriation of cultural concepts of distinct cultures — here of the Sanskrit term (“nirvana”) for altered consciousness, the dissolving of the ego into a higher being, for a brand.

the nirvana experience
Nirvana is an ancient Sanskrit term used in Indian religions to describe the profound peace of mind that is acquired with moksha (liberation). In shamanic thought, it is the state of being free from suffering. In Hindu philosophy, it is union with the Brahman (Supreme Being).
“Nirvana is a model of environmental consciousness and we are delighted to welcome this outstanding company to the iGPS family,” said Bob Moore, Chairman and CEO of iGPS.
The word literally means “blown out" (as in a candle) and refers, in the Buddhist context, to the imperturbable stillness of mind after the fires of desire, aversion, and delusion have been finally extinguished.
I must have died alone
A long, long time ago
According to Mo, seemingly overnight the company changed from 90 percent private label/10 percent Nirvana to 90 percent Nirvana/10 percent private label—and it’s paid off.

Nirvana is the soteriological goal within the Indian religions, Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism.
All we know is all we are
Nirvana is also proving to be a progressive company, making sustainability a major business tenet. It is synonymous with the concept of liberation (moksha) which refers to release from a state of suffering after an often lengthy period of committed spiritual practice.
All we know is all we are
By getting rid of vices, becoming free from duality, free from the worldly attractions and anger, dedicated to spiritual pursuits, having subdued thoughts and cognized Atman, and dedicating oneself to the good of all.
All in all is all we are
The group finally settled on Nirvana, which Cobain said was chosen because “I wanted a name that was kind of beautiful or nice and pretty instead of a mean, raunchy punk rock name like the Angry Samoans".”
